Yinka Kuitenbrouwer

An intimate performance based on hundreds of interviews

For HonderdHuizen, theatre-maker Yinka Kuitenbrouwer studied the universal theme of ‘home’. By way of quotes, photos, personal observations and recordings, she outlines the stories of hundreds of ordinary and less ordinary people she visited in their homes. She talked to them, starting with the question: “What is home to you?

HonderdHuizen is about residents, people leaving, new arrivals, tramps and people who stay at home.

HonderdHuizen is for listeners, storytellers, seekers, finders, acquaintances and strangers.

HonderdHuizen creates a ‘home’ feeling, invites you to meet and share stories

Yinka Kuitenbrouwer (1990) grew up in Amsterdam. At the age of 18 she moved to Ghent where, in June 2014, she graduated magna cum laude in her Drama studies at KASK. Yinka seeks direct communication with her audience, both as an actress in a classic play and when creating an intimate living-room performance.
