Camping Sunset, the revelation of the past Theatre Festival, is back. This summer they bring Happiness, after Todd Solondz’ acclaimed film. An ode to the picking of life, because life is a party, as long as you hang the garlands yourself.
Happiness is about sleeping peacefully without demons in your head and a healthy dose of Seroxat in your stomach. About everyday life. About doing your best and then failing and then failing better and then doing everything again. About fucking and a lack of it. Happiness is yolo, is being happy with yourself. The search for the human dimension and the American dream. Desires and secrets, all around that one concept: touch.

De Wasserij GentCamping Sunset, a collective of 15 recently graduated actors, always starts from the principle that they perform longer than they rehearse. Because you become an actor by acting. You, as a spectator, can come and see the play three times with one ticket. This way you challenge the actors to throw themselves in front of the lions, and you see them and the performance evolve over the three-week playing period.
During the last edition of Het Theater Festival, this group of recently graduated actors was noticed with a quirky version of Maxim Gorki’s Summer Guests. Happiness is their second performance.
