Are you an emerging artist full of inspiration?

Do you want to develop an artistic concept?

Take your chance and participate in the Roel Verniers Prize 2021!

 

Het TheaterFestival supports new talents in the performing arts. That’s why we are looking for inspiring concepts of beginning and graduated artists from various backgrounds: theatre, dance, slam, performance, writing, etc. Everything is possible!

 

The winner of the Roel Verniers Prize 2021 will receive:

• a co-production amount of 6,000 euros for the realization of your artistic concept
• an invitation to show the realization of your concept in Het TheaterFestival 2022 in Ghent

 

How does it work?

E-mail your artistic concept in maximum 1 A4 or in a video message of 1,5 minute + your CV to info@theaterfestival.be. Deadline: Sunday 11th of July.

 

Let us know where you stand in your artistic journey and how this project fits in. Also mention if your project already has support and if so, how.

 

These artistic concepts are carefully read by a professional jury. They will select (+/-) 8 concepts. On Friday 23rd of July you will find out if you have been selected to pitch.

 

On Thursday 2nd of September (subject to change) the nominees can participate in a Feedback Workshop given by Alesandra Seutin (performer, choreographer and dance teacher).

 

On Wednesday 8th of September, the nominees will present their concept live at the festival location Arenberg, during Het TheaterFestival, which takes place from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 12th of September in Antwerp. Mark this date in your agenda!

 

By the end of the day the winner of the Roel Verniers Prize 2021 will be announced.

 

The presentations and the award ceremony are accessible for the public.
