Engagement als fundament
Elk jaar inviteert Het Theaterfestival drie ‘gekozen kijkers'. Dit jaar waren dat Karolien Derwael, Geert Opsomer (CAMPO, Rits) en Ditte Pelgrom (Platform Theater Auteurs). Van 1 mei 2008 tot 30 april 2009 zagen zij 451 voorstellingen uit Vlaanderen en Nederland en samen zo'n 236 premières. Ze keken ruim: van jeugdtheater tot danstheater, van theatrale interventies tot installaties, van muziektheater tot teksttheater. Nadien maakten ze een stand van zaken op, de Keuze '09. Een scherp gekozen lijst die een synthese vormt van een seizoen, veertien projecten ‘met een engagement als fundament'.
De jury van het Nederlands Theater Festival (Amsterdam) maakte ook een keuze en beide festivals wisselen uit. Het Nederlandse festival brengt drie voorstellingen in Brussel, en vice versa. Deze uitwisseling wordt ondersteund door het Vlaams Nederlands huis deBuren en de Brakke Grond. Het Theaterfestival vindt afwisselend in Brussel (Kaaitheater) en in Antwerpen (deSingel) plaats. Dit jaar is Brussel aan de beurt.
L'engagement en tant qu'essence
Chaque année, le Theaterfestival invite ‘trois spectateurs'. Ils ont vu non moins de 451 spectacles en Flandre et aux Pays-Bas, allant du théâtre jeune public à la danse théâtre, du mime aux installations théâtrales, du théâtre musical au théâtre de texte. Ensuite, ils ont établi un état des lieux, le Choix '09, quatorze projets dont l'engagement est l'essence. Le jury du Nederlands Theater Festival (Amsterdam) a également opéré une sélection et les deux festivals effectuent des échanges : le festival néerlandais présente trois spectacles à Bruxelles et vice versa. En collaboration avec Vlaams Nederlands huis deBuren et Brakke Grond.
Commitment is fundamental
Each year The Theaterfestival invites three ‘chosen spectators'. They saw no less than 451 performances in Flanders and the Netherlands. From children's theatre to dance theatre, from mime to theatrical installations, from musical theatre to text theatre. They then summarised the current situation in the Choice ‘09, fourteen projects in which ‘commitment is fundamental'. In association with Vlaams Nederlands huis deBuren and Brakke Grond. The jury of the Nederlands Theater Festival in Amsterdam also made a selection and the two festivals then swap productions. The Dutch festival will be presenting three in Brussels and vice versa.
